400-Acre Farm May Become Open Space In Oxford: Report
Officials say they are in negotiations for the town to purchase the land.

OXFORD, CT — A 400-acre farm that dates back to the 1600s may become town open space, according to the Republican-American.
Schreiber Farm owners and top Oxford officials are working on a land sale. A total of 16 percent of the town's acreage is considered open space currently, the Rep-Am reports.
Town officials have approved a $4,500 grant for an appraisal. First Selectman George R. Temple told the Rep-Am that some of the space could be used for additional ballfields if a deal can be struck.
