• Equipment failure at Oxford compressor sounded like jet engine (ctmirror.org) — A major equipment failure at the Oxford natural gas compressor station in July released tens of millions of cubic feet of gas and created a deafening jet engine-like noise that woke residents in Oxford and nearby towns. Officials say there was no immediate safety threat, but residents and environmental advocates are demanding clearer communication, health information, and transparency about how much gas was released and what safeguards are now in place.
