Issue Over Raises Causes Tension In Oxford: Report
The First Selectman is not happy with the Board of Finance's vote.

OXFORD, CT — The Board of Finance voted against approving raises for non-union town employee, the Republican-American reports. The raises would have cost $46,000.
Finance board members say they approved raises totalling $147,058 worth of raises for the same employees, and questioned why more raises would be necessary so soon. But First Selectman George R. Temple said the town has cut taxes, its grand list is booming and these town employees, who helped shape the town's financial success story, deserve raises for their hard work, the Rep-Am reports.
