Members of the Friends of the Library and the Oxford Historical Society Announce New Program

The event, known as Tellabration, will introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling.

From Oxford Library: Members of the Friends of the Library in Oxford and the Oxford Historical Society will hold a joint public story-tellers program, thanks to the sponsorship of the Connecticut Community Foundation. The program will be held at Christ Church, Quaker Farms on Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m.Featured will be story tellers from the Connecticut Storytelling Center, based at Connecticut College in New London.

The event, known as Tellabration, will introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling. The program is free and open to the public. Included as part of the program will be an opportunity to learn about the activities and events of both the Historical Society and the Friends of the Library. Membership in each organization is open to the public.

Story-tellers will include Arnie Pritchard who will present a program based on hundreds of letters from his father's service in World War II. Jeanne Donato will tell the story of the border wars between Connecticut and Rhode Island from the 1600’s up to the present day. Further information may be obtained by calling 203-910-4574.
