No Hitter Leads Oxford Baseball Into State Tourney

The 9-0 victory on Wednesday marks the first time in the school's short history that the baseball team made the state tournament.

Oxford High School pitcher Gus Constantino tossed a no hitter Wednesday at Weston to clinch a spot for his Wolverines in the Connecticut state tournament.

The 9-0 victory marked the first time the senior left hander tossed a no hitter and it was the first no hitter in the short history of OHS. It is also the first time in Oxford's history that the baseball team made the state tourney.

Constantino helped himself at the plate with an RBI single and two stolen bases.

Matt Renzoni had four RBIs, including a bases-clearing double in the third inning to help Oxford, while Josh Silkoff had two hits, including an RBI double and three runs scored.

Alex Miller had two hits, including a double and two runs scored for the Wolverines.

Oxford improves to 8-8 on the season, while Weston drops to 7-9.
