OHS Boys Soccer Loses to Barlow, Drops to 1-1

Team loses Thursday after winning its opener.

Despite a strong performance from senior goalkeeper Christian Kostka, the Oxford High School boys soccer team lost for the first time this year, 3-0, on Thursday to Joel Barlow High School.

The team drops to 1-1 on the seaon after defeating Weston 1-0 earlier this week.

"Kostka was outstanding in both games," OHS Head Coach Charles Egervari said. On Thursday, he said, the team's defense made some errors that were difficult to overcome. "They simply beat us; that's it."

He also praised the play of Keith O'Hara, a senior sweeper/fullback in Thursday's home game.

Sophmore forward Ryan Flach has scored the team's lone goal of the season against Weston.
