OHS Cross Country Sets School Records For Wins

Team has great season.

The Oxford Girls Cross-Country team set a school record for wins by sweeping the quad meet at Weston on Tuesday.  The girls beat Weston 23-32, Brookfield 19-38 and Stratford 15-50 (a shut out in xc)  to set a team record with 11 wins on the season.

The 11 wins in a season are also the most wins by any varsity sport in OHS history. The girls finished up the year 11-4 (6-1 in Patriot Div). Marcea Stilson won her 2nd straight race in a time of 18:52 over the 3 mile course. Caylee Richardson was 2nd (18:58) Brianna Hoffner 6th (21:09), Giovanna McMahon 8th (21:50), Lindsey Koski 14th (23:03) Sara Thorpe 19th (24:34) to round out Oxford's top 7. Sarah Woolfrey 23rd (25:15) Mila Bowersox 24th (25:51) Emily Lones 25th (26:10) Hannah VanBuiten 27th (26:40) Michaela Ryan 31st (29:10) Maggie Palys 32nd (29:10), Sam Orner 33rd (29:23) and Mallori Micallef 34th (29:25).

The boys team beat Stratford 15-50, but lost to Weston 46-17, and Brookfield 46-17. The boys finished the year at 4-10. Cameron Swift came in 7th (16:22) Brandon Au 17th (17:31) Ian Murray 19th (17:42) Richard Katreyna 30th (18:40) Chris Gee 37th (19:00) Zack Latka 44th (20:13) Joe Venturini 50th (21:37) Kevin Reid 55th (22:31) and Mitchell Wright 62nd (24:10).
