OHS Scores and Skeds: Boys Soccer Wins, Football Loses, Stilson Finishes First in X-Country Meet

This Week's Schedule and Scores: 

Wednesday

• Boys Soccer defeats Kolbe Cathedral 6-0. 

Bryan Baker scored four goals, while Mike Morton and Ryan Flach scored one apiece to lead the Wolverines, 3-4, over Kolbe Cathedral. Said coach Charles Egevari: "In our previous games that we lost, we danced around the goal rather than taking a strong shot on goal. This time, we took good shots and they went in. I'm hoping this is a turnaround for our team."

Thursday

• Girls Soccer at Kolbe Catherdral 3:45 p.m. - We are hoping to get a score and stats.
• Bethel defeats Oxford 54-41 in football: 

The Oxford varsity football team lost in a high scoring affair in a game that was closer than the score showed. The offense scored a ton, but turned the ball over three times, and special teams turned it over once. Quarterback Alex Miller scored three rushing touchdowns, including a 68-yard scamper and threw two more TD passes. He ran the ball 15 times for 150 yards, and completed 18 of 26 passes for 308 yards.

Oxford stats: Chris Hovan carried the ball 14 times for 102 yards, including a 67 yard touchdown run. Jordan Biagioni scored a 70-yard touchdown catch and run on a pass from Miller. Biagioni had 10 receptions for 190 yards. And Justin Laso had four receptions for 75 yards.

Oxford drops to 1-3 on the season.  

Friday

• Girls Volleyball at Newtown 5 p.m.

• Boys and Girls Cross Country at the Wickham Invitational at Wickham Park- Time TBA

The Oxford girls soccer team is still looking for its first win of the season after dropping a 4-0 game at Brookfield on Tuesday. The Wolverines had three shots on goal, while Brookfield had 12.
