Oxford Baseball Defeats Bethel on the Road

Team scores 14 roads on 18 hits to move to .500 on the season.

Alex Miller had four hits, two RBI and scored three runs on the road to pace Oxford over Bethel in a high scoring affair Friday afternoon.

Oxford scored 14 runs on 18 hits and won 14-9.

Oxford's Josh Silkoff had three hits and two RBI, and teammate Erik Fritz stroked a double that scored two runs.

Oxford pitcher Ryan Faroni, who threw a complete game, remained undefeated on the season with a 5-0 record on the hill.

Oxford dominated much of the game. Oxford jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the top of the first and never relinquished the lead. The only inning in which the Wolverines were outscored by Bethel was the fourth, when Bethel put up four runs compared to Oxford's three to make the score 8-6 Oxford going into the fifth.

Oxford put up two in the fifth and another four insurance runs in the seventh to seal the victory. 

 

With the win, Oxford moves to .500 on the season at 7-7, 3-7 in the SouthWest Conference.

Bethel was led with an RBI triple and a single by pitcher Zach Albin and a two-run double and a single by Andy Guerico.

Bethel moves to 6-4 on the season, and is 3-4 in the SWC.
