The boys basketball team defeated Pomperaug at home Tuesday in what could be the best victory in the team's short history.
The Wolverines defeated the Panthers 63-56 at home.
Guard Tyler Gruttadauria led all scorers with 23 points. He also had seven assists to propel Oxford to its first South-West Conference win in its three years of playing varsity basketball.

Center J.T. VanKamerik had 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots, while Alex Miller had four steals and five assists for the Wolverines, who are now 2-8 on the season.
Pomperaug, which moves to 3-7 on the year, was led by Nate Rubenstein and Lucien Fortier, who had 14 and 13 points, respectively.
