Oxford Boys, Girls BBall Drop Close Games to New Milford
Teams both come up just short on Tuesday night.

The girls and boys basketball teams lost respective close games to New Milford on Tuesday night.
The girls lost 42-40. The team missed a shot that would have tied the game in the final seconds.
Oxford was led by senior co-captain, guard Jordyn Tolomeo, who scored 16 points, and sophomore post player Taylor Drayton, 11 points. Oxford falls to 3-6 on the season.

The boys team lost 73-69 to New Milford. Guard Tyler Gruttadauria dropped five three-pointers and had 24 points to lead all scorers. And center J.T. Van Kamerik had 22 points and nine rebounds for the Wolverines, who drop to 1-7 on the season.
Oxford led for much of the game and relinquished the lead in the last three minutes. New Milford made free throws down the stretch when Oxford was forced to foul after a couple of costly turnovers, said Oxford Coach Al Tolomeo.

“All-in-all the kids played great,” he said. “It was a great team effort tonight.”
Seth Calvanese had 10 points for the Wolverines, while Caithan Pratt dished eight assists.
The boys host Joel Barlow at 7 p.m. Friday while the girls play that night at Joel Barlow at 7.
