Oxford Boys Volleyball Wins SWC Crown

Team defeats Barlow in four games Thursday for first title.

Setter Pat Cragan was named the most valuable player for the South-West Conference tournament as he helped lift the Oxford High School boys volleyball team to its first conference title on Thursday.

Oxford beat Joel Barlow in four games (32-30, 25-27, 25-19,25-15) to claim the title in the four-team tournament.

Cragan had 41 assists. Rob Costigan was on the receiving end of most of those assists, as he contributed 31 kills against Barlow.

Jason Mraz had a "double-double" with 16 kills and 10 blocks. 

Oxford will continue its stellar season in the state tournament next week.
