UPDATE: Oxford Football Loses in Homecoming Snow Bowl

Oxford High School senior Quarterback Alex Miller threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another, but his gutty performance wasn't enough to propel his team to victory Saturday against Joel Barlow.

Oxford played a back-and-forth game with Barlow for much of three quarters, but Barlow caught the momentum down the stretch on a cold, snowy day at Oxford High School en route to a 31-20 Barlow victory.

Miller, who took some shots diving for the sticks to give Oxford good field position on many occassions and quickly bounced up, had a one-yard touchdown pass to senior Anthony Paternoster, who is usually a defensive specialist. Miller's biggest play came on a 55-yard touchdown pass to senior Jordan Biagioni, who leaped over the outstetched arms of a defender to make a spectacular catch (see photos below). Miller also had a four-yard touchdown run that was set up by a 33-yard run by senior running back Chris Hovan, which gave the Wolverines a first and goal inside the five-yard line.

Miller completed 10 of 22 passes for 151 yards with one interception to go with his two TD passes. Biagioni caught four passes for 91 yards, including a key catch from Miller on a fourth down that led to an Oxford score.

Hovan  carried the ball 17 times for 64 yards and caught one pass for 13 yards.

Chris Van Kamerick had one catch for 23 yards, and Justin Lasto had two receptions for 20 yards.

For Barlow, sophomore quarterback Jack Shaban carried the ball 10 times for 142 yards.
