Oxford Frosh Throws No Hitter in SWC Semis

Team will play Saturday night in the final.

Freshman Ashley Guillette threw a no hitter and just missed tossing a perfect game for the Oxford High School softball team in a 2-0 win over Bethel Thursday in the South-West Conference tournament semifinal.

Guillette struck out 15 of the 22 Bethel batters she faced. The only base she surrendered came on a walk in the seventh inning.  

Oxford scored its first run in the fifth inning when Sam Orner hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Dallas Passerine. Passerine hit an RBI single in the sixth, scoring Shannon Barsevich for Oxford's second run.

Passerine had two singles, an RBI and a run scored. Guillette, Kaley Kempf and Clare Michalak each had a single. 

The girls will play the winner of Masuk/Brookfield Saturday night at DeLuca Field in Stratford at 6:30 p.m. in the SWC final.
