Oxford Grand List Soars: Here's What It Means For Taxpayers

Local officials also announced the top 10 taxpayers, which you can view the full list below.

OXFORD, CT — First Selectman George Temple and Town Assessor Teresa Geremski announced that that 2018 Grand List for the Town of Oxford has been completed and signed with an increase of 2.90 percent over the 2017 Grand list.

Finance Director, Jim Hliva stated that based on this increase, it will bring in an additional tax revenue of close to 1 million dollars. “This is very good news for Oxford’s taxpayers. It is very satisfying to reap the benefits of our past hard work and economic development,”First Selectman George Temple said.

A town's grand list encompasses taxable property including land, buildings and motor vehicles, but does not include the revenue that the CPV Towantic Energy Center generates annually in the amount of $3,250,000.00. Real estate showed an increase of .80 percent due to new construction and commercial growth according to Geremski. Personal property showed an increase of 26.42 percent and Motor Vehicle increased 3.6 percent. During a small signing ceremony held at the Town Hall, Assessor Geremski, stated “that this is the largest increase Oxford has had since the 2015 revaluation”. She also thanked her staff for their support and hard work this year.
