Oxford Home Sees Copper Pipes Stolen

Police: 'Considerable' damage done to home this week, information sought.

OXFORD, CT — An unoccupied local home was broken into and stripped of some copper pipes on Oakwood Drive, according to the Oxford Resident State Trooper's Office.

The office posted on Facebook Friday that the incident happened between 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1.

State police said a suspect is believed to have forced their way into the house and cut out and removed large amounts of copper plumbing and fittings.

"The process, obviously, caused considerable damage as well," reads the Oxford resident state trooper's Facebook post.

Copper is often targeted by thieves for its value to salvage companies and other market sources.
