Update: Oxford HS Football Beats Stratford 23-7
The Wolverines bounce back from a loss to Masuk for a big win on the road.
Senior tri-captain Chris Hovan rushed for 129 yards, 45 of those coming on a touchdown run, as Oxford cruised to a 23-7 win over Stratford on the road Saturday.
Quarterback Alex Miller accounted for two scores, running for a five-yard touchdown and tossing an 18-yard TD pass to wide receiver Jordan Biagioni to lead Oxford, which improves to 1-1 on the season.
Hovan ran the ball 17 times and racked up 7.5 yards per carry; he also had an interception on defense. Biagioni picked off a pass on defense, too.

Oxford lost its opener at home against Masuk, the state’s No. 1 or No. 2 team depending on the poll.
The Oxford Wolverines will be in Stratford again next week as they take on Bunnell High School. That game is at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
