Oxford Indoor Track Has Success at State Open

Team sees a school record broken and a New England qualifier.

Oxford High School's indoor track team recently competed in the state open championships at Floyd Little Center in New Haven. The meet consists of each events top 18 competitors throughout the entire state.

Sara Thorpe, Marcea Stilson, Caylee Richardson and Olivia Richter broke the school record in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:06. That is 13 seconds off their time last week.

Cameron Swift qualified for New Englands and scored the school's first points ever at the meet. He placed 6th in the 1000 with a time of 2:36.75. Mike Morton came in 9th with a time of 2:38.84.

The boys sprint medley relay, consisting of Ryan Flach, Brandon Au, Morton and Swift, also came in 6th with a time of 3:47.14.
