Oxford Man Upset With Tree Worker Fired Several Gunshots Into Tree: State Police
The accused told police he was just "blowing off steam," according to State Police.

OXFORD, CT — An Oxford man is accused of getting into an argument with a tree worker and he was so upset that he fired off several rounds from his pistol into a tree, State Police said. On Oct. 3, State Police responded to an O'Neil Road residence for a verbal argument between a homeowner and an employee for Lewis Tree Services by the driveway.
The complainant left the scene but the tree worker stayed and continued to work, State Police said. Within 45 minutes, the complainant returned home and went into his home and located his pistol, State Police said. The complainant went outside and discharged several rounds from his pistol into a tree after "blowing off steam," because he was angry about the earlier incident, State Police said.
The complainant was interviewed and confessed to discharging his firearm while he was angry and arguing with the tree services employee, State Police said. Justin Andrew Leake, 23, of O'Neil Road was arrested and charged with breach of peace, reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm, State Police said. He was taken to Troop A.
