UPDATE: Oxford/New Fairfield Football is NBC CT Game of the Week

The Oxford High School versus New Fairfield High School football game this weekend is the NBC Connecticut Game of the Week, meaning the game will be aired on the local NBC affiliate.

The game was one of four choices for game of the week and it got about 45 percetn of the vote. Parents of football players and supporters of Oxford Wolverine football made a big push to get the game on TV; the game will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday night at New Fairfield High School.

A news crew will attend the game and air highlights and stories about the game, said Oxford Athletic Director Glenn Lungarini.
