Oxford OKs Surveillance Equipment for Lily Park and Ryan's Court

OXFORD, CT — The Board of Selectmen has awarded a contract to an Oxford company to install surveillance equipment at Lily Park and Ryan's Court, according to Board of Selectmen meeting minutes.
Two companies bid on the project and it will cost 9,644 for surveillance equipment to be installed at Lily Park and $4,685 for surveillance equipment at Ryan's Court.
The project was awarded to Armed and Ready of Oxford. Money would from the town's contingency fund and was approved by the Board of Finance too.

Four cameras will be installed at Lily Park, officials said via meeting minutes.
First Selectman George Temple has said he's been pursing the surveillance equipment for the park for more than a year and "in light of the current events happening, the safety of the town children is more important," Selectmen meeting minutes state.

He said the surveillance equipment includes cameras with high definition to read license plates and provide a clear picture of a person's face, Selectmen meeting minutes have stated.
"Lily Park should be a place for fun for the children and a place where the town does not have to worry about," Temple said according to meeting minutes.
