Oxford Park and Rec Offers Little Ninjas Program
Program will teach children skills that will help them in school, too, instructor says.

The Oxford Parks and Recreation Department is offering The Little Ninja Program for children who are 4 through those entering Kindergarten.
The program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving the children’s basic motor and listening skills through Martial Arts. These skills will help them become better students at school and listeners at home, said instructor Amy Cote, an Oxford resident who has trained in Martial Arts and also has a degree in Early Education and Child Development.
The children will be exposed to positive social interaction. They will learn how to work with others and follow directions from their instructors who are great role models, Cote said. This program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way through constant praise and encouragement while learning martial arts.
