Oxford Residents Asked To Approve $33M Capital Improvement Plan: Report
The town meeting will be held next week on the $33 million short and long-term capital plan.

OXFORD, CT — Voters will decide next week whether to approve a short and long-term capital improvement plan totaling $33 million, which includes funds for construction of a new middle school, the Republican-American reports.
The town meeting occurs 7 p.m. Monday, March 13 at Town Hall. Here's a break down of some of the projects and costs: $4.5 million for paving and drainage work, funds for a new middle school, $500,000 for new flashing at the high school, a new fire truck, ambulance, plow truck and sander, a pick-up truck.
The capital plan identifies the town's needs over the next several years. It doesn't mean all of the projects will occur next year and First Selectman George R. Temple told the Rep-Am that he's only proposing to spend $4.7 million on capital items next year, and even some of those items may be deferred.
