Oxford Selectmen Approve Funds for Taser Purchase
Officials say Tasers will help improve the safety of the police officers.

OXFORD, CT - The Board of Selectmen approved spending up to $27,724 to be taken from the General Fund surplus to purchase 12 Tasers for police officers in town.
The purchase includes two spare Tasers and covers software and training costs too, according to recent Board of Selectmen meeting minutes.
Sgt. Dan Semosky said Tasers are another tool for officers and no one wants to use their pistol to deter a suspect unless it’s a last resort, meeting minutes states. He said this helps the safety of the officer in the field.
