
Clare Michalak was nearly immaculate against Immaculate High School, pitching a no-hitter to lead the Oxford HS softball team into the state tournament with a 21-0 win on Wednesday.
Michalak, a junior right-hander, struck out 11 batters and walked just one in a game that was shortened by a mercy rule.
Oxford was led at the plate by Haley Dauerty, who had two singles and three RBIs; Kelsey Svenson, who had two doubles, a single, two RBIs and three runs scored; Steph Karcher had a single, a double and a triple with five RBIs and two runs scored; and Natalie Peterson, who had an RBI single and scored two runs.

Oxford, 8-11, has one game left in the regular season, on Thursday (tomorrow) against Weston on the road.
Immaculate finishes the regular season winless at 0-20.
