OXFORD, CT - The town will vote this fall on a proposed middle school project estimated to cost $48.6 million, the Republican-American reported. The project would build a new middle school on Great Oak Road.
The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a resolution this week to have a referendum on or before November 7, the Republican-American reported. The cost of the project is estimated at $48.6 million, however that estimate is still being refined. (To sign up for Oxford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
State reimbursement for the project could range from $9.2 to 13.5 million, according to the Republican-American. New construction is eligible for 27.5 percent reimbursement from the state, but officials said not everything in the project is eligible.
