Oxford Woman Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting Boy, 12: Report

Michelle Sulzicki, 29, a former teacher, had been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy she had tutored at his home.

STRATFORD, CT — Former Stratford elementary school teacher Michelle Sulzicki, 29, was sentenced to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy she had tutored at his Stratford home over a two-year period, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports that Sulzicki, who made a plea deal in August, was also ordered to register as a sex offender and have no further contact with the victim. She will also be on probation for 10 years after serving her prison sentence.

Sulzicki, an Oxford resident and former special education teacher in the Stratford school system, was arrested by Stratford Police last October after police were contacted about allegations of inappropriate conduct between a teacher’s aide and a juvenile.

Sulzicki had been charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury to a minor. She pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child in the plea deal.

The boy, who told police he had sex with Sulzicki between 15-20 times over a two-year period, came forward to officials out of fear that he might be the father of her baby, according to NBC Connecticut.

Tepfer reports that police later determined that the boy was not the father of Sulzicki’s 1-year-old daughter.

When she was interviewed by Stratford police detectives, Sulzicki initially denied having any sexual contact with the boy but then admitted they had sex once when he was in sixth grade, the Hartford Courant previously reported.

Sulzicki also told detectives that she “did not charge the family for tutoring the victim and did it voluntarily,” according to the Courant.
