Oxford Youth Girls Softball District Champs

The Oxford Little League girls softball all star team won the District 3 Championship against Union City of Naugatuck.

Oxford won the first game of the district championship with a walk off grand slam home run by Katelyn Wentz; Oxford won that game 12-9. The team went on to win the championship in the second game, 7-4.

Shannon Barsevich pitched both games.

The team won the first game of the sectional champiopnship 10-2 over Bristol behind the pitching of Allison Sweeney.

The team then lost to Greenwich and Black Rock to end the season.

Coaches called the overachieving season the work of a team effort from a team that would not quit.
