Sports Roundup: Baseball Remains Undefeated, Softball Handed First Loss, Freshman Sets School Records in Girls Track
Oxford High School spring sports season fully underway.
The Oxford High School baseball team remains undefeated at 4-0 after securing a 10-6 victory over Notre Dame of Fairfield at home on Thursday.
The OHS softball team fell to 2-1 after losing 5-3 at home to Bethel High School on Thursday.
The Oxford baseball team was led by Gus Constantino, who blasted a three-run homer to right center field in the fifth inning and tacked on a single for the Wolverines, while catcher Josh Silkoff had an RBI single and an RBI double. Oxford’s Caithan Pratt had two hits and scored three runs.

The baseball team will be at home again today (Friday) against Pomperaug High School of Southbury.

The Oxford HS girls track team is now 1-2 after defeating Immaculate but losing to New Milford and Bunnell in a three-team meet.

Freshman Taylor Drayton set school records in the shot put (32-2) Discus (96-7) and javelin (104-9). She placed 1st overall in all 3 events. Amy Persson placed 1st in the high jump (5-0) and 300 intermediate hurdles (54.2). Stephanie Romanowski placed 1st in the triple jump (32-8). Marcea Stilson placed 2nd in the 1600 (5:42) and 3200 (12:45) and set school records in both events as well.
