Starved/Neglected Dog in Oxford Rebounds, Writes Thank-You Letter

Max, the German Shepherd, who was found weighing just 20 pounds in January, wrote a thank-you note to everyone who donated to help him.

OXFORD, CT - In January, State Police announced an arrest in what they called a "blatant starvation/neglect case" involving a German Shepherd that weighed only 20-25 pounds.

Fast forward 5 weeks later and “Max” the German Shepherd is doing great and he’s even written a thank-you letter for the $3,000 in donations to help with his medical care.

Oxford Animal Shelter

Hi, Max the German shepherd here: I want to thank you for so generously donating towards my care. It was so kind of you. I have had a complete medical evaluation and am now being treated for heartworm disease. I am getting two square meals a day and have put on weight and everyone at the Oxford Animal.

Shelter is taking such great care of me.

Soon I will be relocated and will begin enjoying my retirement. I am blessed I was rescued and that so many people like you care about me.

Thanks and Love: Max

Sincerely…George Temple
