State Supreme Court Hears Arguments In Oxford Teen Death Case
The court will decide whether a case filed against Seymour Police should proceed after a teen was killed during a police chase.
OXFORD, CT — The mother of an Oxford teen who was killed during a police chase took her case to the state Supreme Court to argue that police shouldn't have chased the vehicle her son was in.
The chase began in Seymour when an officer noticed a vehicle with illegal ground effects lights, according to the Connecticut Post. The vehicle was being driven by Eric Ramirez, who was sentenced to prison for negligent homicide. His passenger Brandon Giordano, 15, was killed when he crashed.
The case against Seymour Police was dismissed by a Superior Court Judge, but lawyers for the family claim it should be up to a jury to decide.
