Tax Payments Due Next Month
Payments for the 2009 Grand List due at Town Hall; must be received by Feb. 1 to avoid late fee.

The tax collector's office is collecting the second half of real estate and personal property taxes at Town Hall.
The department will also collect the entire motor vehicle supplemental bill. All bills are for the Grand List of 2009.
The payments are due on Jan. 3 and residents have until Feb. 1 before they incur a late fee, according to a notice about the tax payments on the town's website, www.oxford-ct.gov. If people are paying by mail, all payments must be postmarked by Feb. 1 in order to avoid a late fee, the notice states.

Any bills received after Feb. 1 will be charged interest of 1.5 percent per month from Jan. 3, with a minimum interest charge of $2, in accordance with state law.
The tax collector will be available to receive payments at the Town Hall Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Town Hall is closed on Fridays.

Payments may be mailed to Office of the Tax Collector, 486 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT 06478. Anyone who wants a receipt is asked to include, along with payment, his or her entire tax bill, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope; the tax collector will return the receipted portion.
