Winner of Oxford Main Street Project Logo Contest Named

The award for the chosen logo was $500.00.

OXFORD, CT — On June 13, 2017, Oxford First Selectman, George R. Temple was happy to announce the winner of the Oxford Main Street Project Logo Contest.

Jared Poulsen, an Oxford High School student won the logo contest. Entries from the Oxford High School graphic arts class were presented to the Oxford Main Street Project committee. Each member voted on their favorite logo and Jared’s logo won overwhelmingly.

The award for the chosen logo was $500.00. Jared, his family and his graphic arts teacher, Beth Campbell, attended the award ceremony. Jared was presented the check by the Chair of the Oxford Main Street Project, Kathleen O’Neil. Jared, also received a Certificate acknowledging his accomplishment. Jared was able to design a logo that used the captured the Oxford Main Street Project tag line, “A Path through Nature to Progress.”

The mission of the Oxford Main Street Project is to create and build a pedestrian/bicycle friendly pathway along Oxford’s riverside giving residents access to municipal buildings, churches, local businesses and nature. The committee is looking forward to working with the community in the very near future to help make this vision a reality, said O'Neil.
