Aimee is a Champion for the Environment

Letter in support of Aimee Berger-Girvalo

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 2023 was the warmest year since global records first began in 1850. In addition, the 10 warmest years in the 174-years of record keeping have all occurred during the last decade (2014–2023). If this weather trend concerns you and you are concerned about the adverse impacts of climate change, then you should vote for Aimee Berger-Girvalo.

As Ridgefield’s legislator, Aimee helped secure passage of House Bill 5506, which supports developing carbon-neutral plans for new transportation projects. It also created incentives for consumer and commercial electric vehicles and expanded financing for zero emission vehicle infrastructure. The bill also increased financing for building more solar power and fuel cells and protecting the state’s electric grid against the effects of climate change.

Aimee also supported Clean Air Act legislation, (PA 22-25) that exempts electric charging stations from property tax assessments and provides incentives to local schools to use electric school buses. In addition, the law creates a grant program to help municipalities improve traffic signals and sets a goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions from electricity by 2040.

Aimee has been awarded a 94% environmental score by the CT League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) and is endorsed by the Sierra Club. She has 100% of my support as well.
