Aimee is Strong, Kind and Caring
Berger-Girvalo works tirelessly to improve the lives of ALL Ridgefielders, including our most vulnerable.

Aimee is what I would call a strong Mama Bear who has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Ridgefielders, not just as a State Representative but as a volunteer and professional in our community, in support of our most vulnerable citizens. Her steadfast belief in human rights and equality for all are at the heart of Aimee’s core. For nearly 20 years, Aimee has volunteered as the director and coach of The Holland League of the Soccer Club of Ridgefield, giving kids with learning and developmental differences the opportunity to play a team sport. She was integral in the redevelopment and relaunch of the program. Under her leadership, the Holland League has developed a strong mentoring program to give neurotypical kids an opportunity to work with the members of the Holland league. As a teacher, I know it takes a special type of person with patience, kindness and a solid work ethic to make such a program a success. Before she was our State Representative, Aimee brought her caring heart to her career as a Special Education Para for 6 years in the Ridgefield Public Schools, working with kids on the autism spectrum, and was inspired to get a degree in Developmental Disability Advocacy. As the mom of a trans child who was bullied non-stop in school, I can personally attest to Aimee’s kindness, caring and, most importantly, to her advocacy for our LGBTQ+ youth. She is courageous, says what needs to be said, and what others are afraid to say. She has a huge heart, gives of herself and truly believes that everyone deserves to reach their full potential.
