Ridgefield Police Charge Bridgeport Man After Ethan Allen Highway Motorcycle Crash (patch.com) β Ridgefield police responded to an Aug. 30 two-vehicle crash on Ethan Allen Highway and say a 29-year-old Bridgeport motorcyclist had a fraudulent license plate. Officers reported only minor injuries but issued a misdemeanor summons for multiple motor vehicle violations. The rider was released on a promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court later this month.

Ridgefield Selectpersons Accept $1.8 Million In Grants For Sidewalks, Recycling And Parking (patch.com) β Ridgefield residents can expect significant upgrades after selectpersons accepted more than $1.8 million in grants for new Danbury Road sidewalks, recycling center improvements, and Venus Building parking and access work. Town Engineer Jake Mueller outlined phased construction near the Ridgefield Playhouse and a boosted sidewalk program exceeding $600,000, all without requiring a local match. The board also created a new nonprofit route for police donations through Friends of Ridgefield Community Programs.

Ridgefield Public Hearing Covers Town Administrator, Senior Tax Relief And Property Proposals (patch.com) β Ridgefield residents packed a Sept. 2 public hearing to debate creating a new town administrator position, overhaul senior property tax relief, and shape the future of long-troubled 29 Lakeview Drive. Speakers also weighed adding alternates to the Pension Commission and accepting a donated Mamanasco Road property as a town park, with several proposals headed toward a Sept. 16 town meeting.

Here are 25 CIAC girls soccer players to watch during the 2026 season (newstimes.com) β Ridgefield fans can keep an eye on senior midfielder Olivia Baglio, who's been singled out as one of Connecticut's top 25 girls soccer players to watch this season. Her strong play on the right wing helped the Tigers reach last year's Division I semifinals, and she returns as an All-FCIAC First Team selection ready to anchor another deep run.

New Regional Trail Network Could Connect 7 Western CT Towns (patch.com) β Ridgefield is one of seven western Connecticut towns that could be linked by a new regional multi-use trail network now in the planning stages. The project would connect existing paths like the Norwalk River Valley Trail and Still River Greenway, and planners are actively seeking resident feedback before pursuing funding and construction. This could eventually expand local recreation and bikeable connections for Ridgefield residents.
