Ridgefield Anti-Fracking Petitioners Get Green Light

They have collected the number of signatures sufficient for a town meeting.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Residents looking for an anti-fracking ordinance in town have collected the number of signatures sufficient for a town meeting, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.

Petitioners needed 369 signatures to get on the agenda; the Press is reporting that they registered 674.

The new ordinance would not only prohibit oil and gas fracking in Ridgefield, but restrict the use of by-products from the process.
