Back by Popular Demand: Deep Sleep Meditation Instruction
The public is once again invited to learn the Joy of Deep Sleep Meditation (Yoga Nidra) at a session hosted by St. Stephen's Church

Joy Hoffman (pictured), a certified Yoga Nidra and Yoga Therapist, is once again bringing her Deep Sleep Meditation instruction to St. Stephen’s North Hall on Sunday, June 9, 7 p.m.-8:15 p.m. The public is welcome, no experience is necessary, and it is designed for all ages. Deep Sleep Meditation is composed of a series of breath, body and awareness techniques that progressively relax participants into deeper brain wave patterns. Because of its restorative effects on the body, mind and spirit, one hour of this practice is comparable to 3-4 hours of deep sleep. It is especially beneficial to those who feel overwhelmed and always on the go or those practicing intense or competitive sports. There are no yoga poses, only reclining on one’s back.
Participants will need: a throw pillow, 1-2 blankets, a yoga mat (let us know if you need one, and it will be supplied), an eye pillow or washcloth and an optional bolster for under your knees. “These props are meant to assure comfort while you are lying on your back for an hour,” according to Rich Stein, organizer of the event. Registration is required, and a $20 donation is requested. Please register here
