We welcome ArtScapades back to the Ridgefield Library on Tuesday, July 14th at 6:30 pm for a lecture that looks at paintings of gardens, trees, and flowers, which can represent the beginning of life, symbolize love and passion - and perhaps most fundamentally, relay a space of comfort and hope.
With a focus on Impressionism, ArtScapades will look at how gardens and flowers played an important role in the works of artists throughout history. This lecture will touch on works by Hieronymus Bosch, Gustav Klimt, Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Rousseau and then look more closely at how flowers and gardens were captured in the works of Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Mary Cassatt and Vincent van Gogh.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998. They have presented at libraries, art centers, and museums in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida.
