Democratic Slate Supports Environment

I am writing in support of the re-election of State Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo and State Senators Julie Kushner and Ceci Maher. As a resident of Ridgefield for 22 years I have witnessed their strong commitment and advocacy for the environment in Ridgefield. Rep. Berger-Girvalo is a staunch supporter of clean air and specifically Connecticut’s Clean Air Act and has a strong record of promoting environmental sustainability. She supports the goal of reaching zero greenhouse gas emissions from electricity by 2040, speeding up the electrification of state fleet of vehicles, and making it easier for renters and condo owners to install electric chargers. Sen. Kushner founded the School Indoor Air Quality Working Group and as co-chair has worked with experts to make recommendations about improving school air quality. Sen. Maher was instrumental in making grant funds available for land preservation and established a green jobs corps program to help communities respond to climate change and reduce carbon emissions. Most recently, the three came together to help announce a list of Indoor Air Quality grants for eight Ridgefield schools to pay for needed infrastructure. Through their efforts, Connecticut is a model of environmental sustainability that can be passed on for generations. I enthusiastically urge voters to support the re-election of Aimee Berger-Girvalo, Julie Kushner and Ceci Maher to State office.
