Heavy Metal Cellos Coming to Ridgefield
The Finnish cello-metal band, Apocalyptica, will be playing one show at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
RIDGEFIELD, CT --- The Finnish cello-metal band, Apocalyptica, will be playing one show at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Tuesday, May 29, 7:30 p.m.
The six-member (drummer, vocalist, and cello quartet) group is best known for their recently re-issued album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos." When first released in 1996, the work helped to define a new genre of classical/metal fusion.
In the twenty-plus years since, the band has released eight more albums, including their re-mastered debut disc.
The Ridgefield Playhouse, located at 80 East Ridge in Ridgefield, is a not for profit 501 (c)(3) whose mission is to present a variety of performing arts to the community and the surrounding area that they can enjoy and experience at a varied price point. The Playhouse presents national and local acts.
