Julie Kushner: The Clear Choice for Reproductive Rights

'...with liberty and justice for all.’ Like many of us, as a child I recited these words countless times in school without giving them much thought. Even as an adult, busy with building a career and raising a family, I didn’t stop to reflect on their meaning. But I’ve come to realize how deeply these words resonate with my values, and I believe our elected leaders should embody them. That’s why I am proud to support State Senator Julie Kushner for re-election in the 24th District.

At a time when reproductive rights are under attack across the country, we need leaders like Julie who will stand up for women’s rights and freedoms. Julie has been a vocal and effective advocate for reproductive rights in Connecticut. She co-sponsored the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, which not only expanded access to abortion care but also provided crucial protections for patients and healthcare providers from out-of-state legal threats. This law is a direct response to the growing assault on women’s rights, and Julie’s leadership on this issue has helped keep Connecticut a safe place for reproductive healthcare.

Julie’s commitment to this issue is also personal. She has shared her own experience with abortion, showing her deep understanding of what’s at stake for so many women. Her advocacy is grounded in her own life experience which makes her even more effective as a legislator.

When reproductive rights are on the line, we need leaders who are transparent and unwavering. Julie Kushner has proven that she is the leader we can count on to protect reproductive freedom and to fight for “liberty and justice for all”. That’s why she has my vote.
