Muse Squad’s Nightmare Before Christmas Extravaganza
Ridgefield-based Creative Writing Non-Profit Organization 'Muse Squad' holds upcoming holiday event at Jumpz and Thrillz in Danbury, CT.
This December…on Friday the 13th…jingle all the way to join local creative writing nonprofit ‘Muse Squad’ for a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed Extravaganza. Mark your calendar now because you don’t want to miss this spooktacular holiday affair. The event takes place from 4 PM - 8 PM at Jumpz and Thrillz located at 21 Prindle Lane in Danbury, Connecticut. Celebrants shall be met with an array of thrilling attractions: wall-to-wall trampolines, highflying adventure park, cookies and other delectable sweet treats, artwork, and, of course, writing! Amid all the excitement, a raffle inspired by two iconic characters (a pumpkin king and a rag doll), is a wonderful way this giving season to support writers, their families and friends as participants in our Word Board each earn a ticket for Jack & Sally’s Free Raffle. It’s not too late to get involved! Businesses donating gift cards will be featured in our Halloween Town display in the lobby of Jumpz.
Oh, did we mention that this is a costume party? But be sure to follow our check list:
- Make sure costumes are safe for jumping.
- Avoid masks that impair vision and loose clothing that could get tangled.
Kids, teens and adults from all surrounding towns are invited to attend (no past participation in Muse Squad programs necessary!).
Attendees have the opportunity to pen a note to a future Muse Squad Writer at our Notebook Donation Station! Our notebook drive accepts all kinds of spiral and composition notebooks (and pens), and will house the creative works of children, teens and seniors in our growing Muse Squad family.
Curious about dinner, we’ve got it covered. Jumpz and Thrillz have snack bars that sell food and beverages, including pizza (whole and by the slice), chicken nuggets, french fries, mozzarella sticks, wings, soft pretzels and more. Bon appétit!
No holiday event could be complete without sweet dishes and desserts, so be sure to visit our table of Oogie Boogie’s Cookies. (If you wish to participate as a baker, please contact info@musesquad.org or call 475-529-8728.)
But wait…there’s more! We have an Extravaganza Writing Contest! In honor of The Nightmare Before Christmas we invite all ages to take part. In less than 500 words, write about your favorite Christmas or Halloween memory. Any genre including poetry, essay, fiction, non-fiction, short story, letter, etc., is welcome! The winner’s piece of writing will be published in an article for our non-profit’s hometown of Ridgefield in the local newspaper and will also appear as a special edition sent out to our subscribers at ‘A Time To Write Bulletin’.
