Ridgefield High School Named To Top 10 Best Public High Schools In CT: New Rankings (patch.com) — Ridgefield residents can celebrate that Ridgefield High School has been ranked ninth in Connecticut and 439th in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 Best High Schools list. The ranking, based on factors like graduation rates, test performance, and college readiness using 2023-24 data, shows the school slipped just one spot statewide but remains among the state's elite public high schools.
   

2. Free and Cheap After-school Programs in Connecticut (mommypoppins.com) — Ridgefield families can tap Parks and Recreation's after-school enrichment classes at Branchville Elementary, offering options like STEAM, chess, Spanish, Lego, and watercolors by age group. This statewide roundup highlights Ridgefield alongside other Connecticut towns, emphasizing affordable, flexible care and enrichment during the critical after-school hours. It's a useful starting point if you're planning fall activities.
   

3. 21-unit Connecticut housing plan advances nearly 20 years after approval (ctpost.com) — A long-stalled 21‑unit housing development on Prospect Street in Ridgefield is finally moving forward, with demolition of two houses required under a 2023 town settlement. Neighbors worry about traffic and neighborhood character, while the Ridgefield Historical Society, after initially objecting, has withdrawn its opposition to demolishing the 106‑year‑old home at 67 Prospect Street.
   

4. Nerandomilast Has an Acceptable Safety Profile in Healthy People (rarediseaseadvisor.com) — Researchers at Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield found the lung drug nerandomilast showed rapid absorption, predictable dosing, and generally acceptable safety in 100 healthy male volunteers across three small trials. While the work doesn't change daily life here yet, it highlights Ridgefield's role in developing treatments for pulmonary fibrosis now approved in several countries, including the U.S.
