Ridgefield Police Report 2 Crashes With Injuries, Speeding Summons (patch.com) — Ridgefield drivers are being reminded to slow down after police reported two injury crashes and a separate high-speed stop on local roads. Two collisions on Sept. 18 sent multiple motorists to Danbury Hospital, and a Bethel driver was cited for allegedly going more than double the speed limit on Danbury Road.

'It Shouldn't Be A Circus': Ridgefield School Board Approves Revised FY26 Report Showing $37K Surplus (patch.com) — Ridgefield residents now know the school district's fiscal 2026 books are closing with a modest $37,072 surplus after a tense review of shifting numbers and accounting decisions. Board members pressed Superintendent Susie Da Silva and finance staff on misassigned expenses, E-Rate revenue timing, and new safeguards meant to prevent future budget surprises.
   

3. Ridgefield Public Safety Committee Begins New Review Of Police, Fire Facility Options (patch.com) — Ridgefield's Public Safety Facilities Committee has restarted work on three options for future police and fire buildings, including a combined complex near Danbury Road and upgrades to the East Ridge Road station. Over the next several weeks, architects will develop conceptual designs, cost estimates, and site evaluations, with at least one public meeting planned so residents can weigh in before recommendations go to town leaders.
   

4. Ridgefield woman accused of poisoning ex-fiancé offered plea deal (wtnh.com) — A Ridgefield mother accused of poisoning her ex-fiancé with antifreeze-laced wine has been offered a plea deal that could mean at least 12 years in prison. She appeared in Danbury court Thursday, where the judge adjusted her release and protective-order conditions while she considers the offer ahead of a November 5 deadline.
   

5. GametimeCT Football Pick'Ems: Week 3 selections for the 2026 high school season (thehour.com) — Ridgefield High's football team was one of last week's surprise standouts, earning big wins despite being picked by only a few GameTimeCT staffers. This week's Pick'Ems return to conference play, with staff records tight and Ridgefield again in the statewide spotlight as analysts make their Week 3 selections.
