Police Investigate Theft of Jeep Stolen from Dealership

RIDGEFIELD, CT --- Police are looking into the theft of a brand new Jeep Renegade that was stolen right from the car dealer's showroom.
Ridgefield police responded to a call about an abandoned vehicle on May 6 at approximately 1:44 A.M. Upon arrival, officers located a Jeep Renegade that was unoccupied in the southbound lanes of Route 7 in the vicinity of Pamby Motors. Further investigation revealed that a showroom window at Pamby Motors had been smashed and the building entered.
In a media release, police indicated that "the suspect(s) entered the dealership and took the key fob belonging to a new Jeep Renegade that was parked in the lot." Police determined that the unknown party stole the Jeep and began traveling southbound on Route 7 before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing the area. Police say that, "It is unclear at this time as to why the vehicle was abandoned."
