Popular Ridgefield Restaurant Closes
It's the sixth Main Street business to shutter since December.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Village Tavern on Main Street has closed up shop, just about two years since its opening.
The establishment joins eateries Johnny Gelato and Cheers Ridgefield, as well as gift shop Purple Frog, realtor William Raveis, and Farmers Insurance on the list of Main Street businesses to shutter since December.
The Village Tavern opened in January 2017, serving "new American cuisine." Co-owners Bruno DiFabio and Chef Germano Minin met in 2014 when DiFabio was a judge on the “Pizza Perfect” episode of The Food Network's “Chopped” and Minin was a contestant. DiFabio had previously won the title of World Pizza Champion six times, according to the News Times.
