Progressives Organize "Evening of Education & Action" this Sept 30

Many people are feeling overwhelmed by the deterioration of reproductive rights, the dangers of Project 2025, the upcoming critical election, and more. That motivated ImpaCT to organize a local progressive event this September 30 at 6:00pm at the Ridgefield Playhouse, to help people learn more and take action to fit their interests. This event will be impactful, covering important issues such as immigration, housing, reproductive rights, civil rights, the economy, and Project 2025. Attendees can make a difference!

Speakers are experts in their field: Amanda Skinner, President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England will speak on reproductive rights. Sarah Fox, CEO of CT Coalition to End Homelessness, will speak on housing. Dan Barrett, Legal Director of ACLU of CT, will speak on Project 2025. Dan O’Keefe will speak about the economy. Maggie Mitchell Salem, Executive Director of IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services) will speak on immigration. Karen DuBois-Walton, President of Elm City Communities, will moderate the question & answer session.

“Action Tables” in the lobby will be filled with advocacy organizations allowing attendees to learn more, sign up to volunteer, donate, and more. Thus far, the Action Tables include: CT Against Gun Violence, Community Action Agency of Western CT, The Reach Fund of CT, Ridgefield Pride, Bethel Pride, Apex Community Care, Triangle Community Center, States United, ReSisters, The Center for Empowerment & Education, Planned Parenthood Votes CT, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, Ridgefield DTC, IRIS, ACLU of CT Rise PAC, and CT Coalition to End Homelessness. More Action Tables will be announced soon on climate change, civil rights, and registering to vote.
