Less frequently, and certainly less convincingly, than in past cycles, we still occasionally hear local Republicans hollowly protest that they are different from Trump Republicans. That claim is even harder to credit now, when nearly every lawn displaying signs for local Republican candidates also prominently displays a Trump sign. Local Republican candidates don’t simply share supporters with Trump and Vance, they also share values, tactics, and temperaments. Local Republican candidates have demonstrated complete disrespect for voters, refusing to show up for the LWV forum or skirting answers to questions. The sad, deeply disturbing fact is that there is NO daylight between local Republicans and Trump Republicans. So this election season it is more imperative than ever to cast your ballot for the entire Democratic slate from top to bottom. Vote Row A all the way. AND I will be voting YES on the No Excuse Absentee Ballot Referendum, because expanding access to the ballot IS a good thing.
