Rep. Berger-Girvalo Tackles Climate Emergency

Flooding, extreme heat, violent storms. State Rep. Aimee Berger-Girvalo seeks solutions that put people first, whether they are homeowners, renters, low-wage workers, small business owners, city dwellers, suburbanites or rural neighbors. In the ongoing, urgent effort to mitigate against climate change’s effects, she recently focused her attention and that of her colleagues in both parties on financing measures to improve the state’s electrical grid, make installation of electric charging stations affordable for apartment and condo complexes, and transition our state’s vehicle fleets to EVs. The resulting simultaneous initiatives will improve the quality of the air we breathe (the American Lung Association’s ratings for Fairfield County are F for ozone, C for particle pollution) and reduce our carbon emissions. Rep. Berger-Girvalo’s work to create a healthier, more climate-resilient Connecticut is one of the many compelling reasons she gets my vote on Nov. 5.
